Then, for the remainder of your response, explain why this new job better aligns with your career goals and where you want your career path to go in the future.
3. You’re Changing Jobs
One of the simplest reasons to leave your current job is that your career interests have changed. It’s a sign that you understand what works and what doesn’t — literally.
So, if you’re applying for a new job in a different field than your previous one, inform your interviewer that you’re changing careers and that working for this company would be in line with your new career goals. Then, explain all of your transferable skills and experience to demonstrate your suitability for the position.
4. It is the following logical step.
Sometimes you’ve gone as far as you can in your current company’s career, but you want to go even further. It could be because the company is small and there are no opportunities for advancement. It’s also possible that your current company has a narrow focus, and you’ve decided you’d like to work on broader or larger projects.
Explain how the new role at the new company will help you advance your career while also mentioning how your current skill set will benefit the employer.
5. Inform them that this is your dream company.
Employers aren’t looking for just anyone to fill open positions. They are looking for candidates who are passionate about working for their company. Make your answer about the hiring manager’s company rather than your current employer. Explain how you support their humanitarian efforts and connect with their company culture.
These can demonstrate to a potential employer that you have not only researched the company, but that you will fit in well and will not leave after six months.
