During their menstrual cycle, many women have menstrual cramps.

These cramps, which are usually along with discomfort, swelling, and nausea, happen for 3–5 days once a month.

Periods, or your monthly cycle, are often connected with cramps, which are nothing more than the uterus’ method of losing its inner lining, which flows out of the vagina as blood.

Cramps are unpleasant and may cause varied degrees of pain in the individual.

Signs of menstrual cramps/ sickness might differ from person to person and may include headaches and diarrhea.

If you suffer from discomfort and cramps, Ayurveda specialist Dr. Dixa Bhavsar advises on how to manage menstruation pain: Please know, “Painkillers are not your only buddy.”

“These 5 excellent period pain cures are worth a try.”

1. Enjoy tea

2. Warmth should be applied to painful areas

3. Keep yourself hydrated with water

4. Yoga should be practiced

5. Foods

Enjoy tea

Take a sip of chamomile or ginger tea.

Drinking ajwain tea relieves menstruation cramps.

All of these warm and calming teas can help you get rid of your cramps.

Throughout the day, you may sip on any (whichever fits you most).

Warmth should be applied to painful areas

The most well-known period-comfort cure that many women use is using a hot water bottle.

Applying heat to the lower abdomen during period, aids in the relaxation of tightening uterus-based muscles.

This is a very old pain-management way of improving things is practiced by women all around the globe.

Keep yourself hydrated with water

“Drinking water is extremely important during menstruation since it helps (to reduce) signs of sickness such as swelling.”

Drink flavored mineral water to add a (like nothing else in the world) twist to your watering/filling with water (something commonly done).

Make a jug of water (flavored with the leaves of the mint plant) to keep yourself hydrated throughout the day.

“Keeping yourself hydrated with water isn’t only helpful for cramps; it’s also important for your general health,” she said.

Yoga should be practiced

Yoga is the ideal fix (for a disease) since it increases circulation in the hip-related area and releases endorphins, which undo the blood-clotting fats ((chemical produced by the body)-like substances that cause the uterus-based muscles to contract during menstruation).

“Asanas like pranayama and shavasana are good since they are both calming for the body and simple to do.”

These gentle asanas will immediately relieve your discomfort.

“You should also get (good) enough rest, both physically and mentally,” she continued.

Foods

Some meals are claimed to relieve pain and discomfort, while others are carefully thought about/believed to worsen it.

Many people feel that (acid-like/harsh) foods should be avoided during those four to five days per month since they might (irritate/make worse) the problem, causing cramps to grow worse.

Is this true, especially when it comes to delicious things like pickles and lemons?

“Thankfully, no matter what these stories [are], and what your neighbors [say], your uterus does not have taste buds, therefore it does not matter what sort of food you are eating/consuming during your period,” Dr Tanaya, also known as ‘Dr Cuterus,’ explained.

Sour meals will not (irritate/make worse) your period pains.

According to Dr. Rohini Patil, food expert and creator of Nutracy (way of living), one should avoid fried food and ready-made snacks, especially packaged food, since they are high in salt and sodium, which may cause (water being retained within the body) and swelling during periods.

As a precautionary measure, coffee and alcohol should also be avoided.
