What makes you a strong contender for this position?

Interviews can be nerve-racking, especially when it comes to tough questions like those about income, your motivations for applying, and an introduction in which you have to explain why you’d be a good fit for the organization.

For a business, every new employee represents a potential liability. It’s impossible to predict who will succeed, therefore they need to do their best to discover the ideal candidate. It’s a safe bet that an interviewer will ask you this type of question because they’re trying to find the right person for the job.

How do you answer “why are you the best candidate for this position?”

Preparing for an interview

Research the company, top directors, branches, revenue etc.

Make sure you know what the job entails before submitting an application. The job description should be studied thoroughly so that you understand your responsibilities, the tasks you’ll be asked to perform on a daily basis and the talents the organization requires from someone in this position.

Explain how you will make a difference.

Research the company’s needs and determine if your background and experience can meet them. Is there a lot you can bring to the table in terms of education, employment, and experience? Make an effort to put yourself in the interviewer’s position.

If you say yes, you’ll be seen as the ideal candidate for the job.

Improve the quality of your responses.

Cut out the information that isn’t relevant to the task at hand. Adding too many characteristics on a person’s resume will make it more difficult for them to recall them. Interviewers are more likely to recall your answers if you limit the possible choices to a manageable quantity.

Once you’ve compiled your list, work on a response that won’t take more than a minute to deliver.

Toward the end of the interview, ask a question that is open-ended.

If you want to leave a lasting impression on the interviewer, end your answer with a question of your own. During the interview, you might inquire about their thoughts on your background and skills, what they expect of you, and other relevant information.

What makes you a strong contender for this position?

Don’t be quiet. If you want this career, you’ll have to learn how to market yourself, even if it’s uncomfortable.

What makes you a strong contender for this position?

Here are a few suggestions:

“I’m the perfect candidate for this position because you need someone who thrives under pressure, and I noticed that in the job description. Eight significant accounts were under my control in both my current and former positions. A lot of time was spent interacting with clients, sending emails, completing the work, and making sure it was done to a high degree.”

If you put me under a lot of stress, you might argue that I thrive in that kind of setting. Everyone isn’t suited to a high-stress job. I’m perfectly suited for this position. My interview may have been a result of this.

My resume demonstrates that I’m the best candidate for this position because I’ve worked in similar departments, as required by the job description.” I’ve handled projects, worked with clients, and provided customer support in my career. You can see I have man management skills as well because I am currently overseeing 10 employees.

What are the most important things to you as a person in this position?

“Are you looking for someone to take the reins? The impression I had was that but feel free to disprove it.”

As you can see, my resume demonstrates why I am the best candidate for this position.

“ I have a lot of experience in this very competitive field. The previous three years have seen me oversee the northern sales team, and I have a stellar record to show for it. Both internally and externally, I am a confident communicator. It’s not just my expertise and experience, though, that your company would profit from; my interpersonal skills and relationships with my clients would also be an asset.”
